Western greek, italy, taranto, early 4th century bc. Two small feathered wings, flanking the face of the goddess, that shows wavy locks of hair and a fleshy mouth with slightly open lips. Bendis was the thracian goddess of hunting. Interpreted by the ancient greeks equal to artemis. On the back of the curved terracotta plate are some remnants visible of the semicircular cover tile.
