- Significant Louis XV chest of drawers so-called Sauteuse, stamped "P.russel", approx. 1750-1755: On four curved, down-tapered legs Standing commodic body … more Significant Louis XV chest of drawers so-called Sauteuse, stamped "P.russel", approx. 1750-1755: On four curved, down-tapered legs Standing commodic body with smoked front and sides as well as pierced ornamental apron. The dresser includes a large lower and two smaller upper drawers, all of which are lockable with its own key. The drawer fronts and the pages are decorated with passal curly, framed with ribbon inserts, which carry a fine mirror market of light wood contrasts with the dark wood of field framing. The drawers and the chest edges show excellent, expressive gold-plated bronze instruments in the Louis XV style in the form of moving, vegetable stripped handles, keyhole frames, as well as corner cartridges and sabots. As the upper conclusion, one of the commodic corpus serves the following plate made of red Belgian marble. The plaster stamp "P.roussel" is located on the commodic body below the marble plate. Pierre Roussel (1723 -1782, Master from 1745) opened his workshop in the Paris rue de Charinton. While his beginnings were modest, he developed in the course of his career one of the most sought after and talented plasters of his time: he made a variety of excellent furniture in large bandwidth of the furniture types and styles with partially detailed marketers of excellent quality. u. a. From 1775 to 1780 on behalf of the Prince de Condé for its castles Palais Bourbon and Château de Chantilly. In 1745 he received his championship title, 1762 he became a member of the Jurande. The contemporary written ", Almanach d'Indication Générale Ou Du Vray Mérite" highlights him as one of the most important plasters of his time in Paris.
