Charming furniture composed of two elements including a sloping desk topped by a small showcase with two drawers.
This Showcase is equipped with two Doors with framing and Cut of Tab adorned with a Filet and finely chiseled Bronze in interior part and on the cover joint. The right door is equipped with an Original Lock in working condition with its Key. The mounts are decorated with beautiful Bronze Chutes in the upper and lower part. Two Drawers with Brass Pull Knobs are enriched with Light Wood Marquetry with floral motifs and a refined central Knot.
This set is topped by an elegant openwork Brass Gallery and a finely carved half-round rod.
In the lower part, a harmonious Sloping Desk benefits from a beautiful Light Wood Marquetry on its Flap and its front crosspiece. These works represent Delicate Flowers, Leaves and Branches, underlined by a fine Filet of Lemon tree.
The hinged cover reveals a bright red Sheepskin with a Napoleon III gold vignette in the corners and borders.
The interior of the Desk is composed of two drawers in Rosewood with Lemonwood Filet, a large Niche on top and a large Storage concealed by a sliding Shelf with a Brass Pusher.
This piece of furniture rests on four very harmonious curved legs with a Chute at the top and Sabots at the bottom, in Brass. The Sides are exceptionally curved, taking the forms of the Feet.
Graceful and well-proportioned, this Small Display Desk of the Napoleon III period leaves no one indifferent.
