Maria is a graceful porcelain sculpture realised in Italy in the early 40s.
This beautiful statues were used as a incessant light during the night. In fact they were disposed in the bedroom and left on all night long. This weak light, back in the days, was permitting to orientate yourself in the bedroom without turning on the main brighter lamp.
It was also representing the eternal light released by Saint Maria and Jesus Christ.
The lamp shows refined details such as the gold applied stars and the graceful painted nails of Saint Mary.
As you can see in pic n°5 the statue was glued back on the base and shows tiny cracks which are not compromising nowadays the solidity and the beauty of this antique piece.
This unique statue is ready to embrace your environment with its delicate appearance!
