The seat of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin was the result of the design, but the SE 122 A seat with belts set itself apart from its competitors thanks to a special design feature. The armrests that are common in conference chairs were placed on a side frame by Prof. Eiermann; the material and color are clearly set off between the back rail and the side frame. This sculptural and rare furniture, an icon of German post-war design, looks very special and unique.
With slight signs of wear. Originally designed for the administration building of Essener Steinkohle, the “belt chair” was presented to a wide audience at the furniture fair in Cologne in 1962. The elaborately designed and manufactured armchair was never produced in large numbers.
Oiled teak, black cowhide nappa leather cover and straps, foam padding. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
from
misattribution less
