This desk was made for a private residence in the Netherlands in the 1971. It was commissioned as part of a complete interior refurbishment by Bossche School architects Louis de Kok/Fons Vermeulen. The olive colour was conceived by the artist Wim van Hooff whose colour schemes were applied to many Bossche School design during the mid-century period.
The desk is particularly rare being that it is one of a limited number of van der Laan’s designs that were applied to domestic use rather than ecclesiastical environments. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
from
misattribution
