Original drawing realized in china ink on paper. Hand-signed by the artist on the lower right corner of the right square: Filiberto S. Passepartout is included (35 x 50 cm). Image Dimensions: 10 x 8 cm Very good conditions. Nice double satirical drawing depicting generals inside squares with spheres in hand. The general on the right holds a sphere full of blades in his hand. One of these blades pierced him. In the left panel, however, we see an elderly man with a beard who gives the general the sphere. The work was realized by the Italian artist Filiberto Scarpelli. Scarpelli (Naples, 1870 - Rome, 1933) was an Italian journalist, cartoonist, satirist, humorist and avant-garde artist. He participated in the Futurist movement: in particular, a famous Futurist evening in which he participated at the Verdi Theater in Florence and which ended with two hours of uninterrupted throwing of fruit, vegetables, eggs and other foodstuffs against Marinetti, Papini, Boccioni, Carrà, Soffici, Palazzeschi and Scarpelli himself. Furthermore, the shouts and whistles of the public prevented the listening of the speeches prepared by the ''futurists''. He also worked as a cartoonist for ''Il Balilla'', ''Il Popolo d'Italia'', ''Numero'', ''Il Pasquino'', the ''Giornalino della Domenica'' and ''Il Corriere dei Piccoli''. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
