I have had a couple other Harold Cheney works in the past few years. They have all been portraits. He was most known for his portraits as well as his landscapes of Boston and other parts of Massachusetts. He also did these wonderful still life paintings. I just acquired 3 of them from a local estate and am offering them this week. Some really great paintings. Signed and dated lower left, a wonderful still life of fruit in and out of a basket, wine bottles and jugs and a tobacco pipe as well. Painting is oil on board measuring 20 x 24 inches and is in excellent condition. Really clean and vibrant with just a few small spots of discoloration and some minor surface grime. Really an outstanding example of the artist's work. Period frame is complimentary and ready to hang. Frame measures 24 3/4 x 28 3/4 inches. less
