He studied art at Waltham Forest School of Art and later at St Martins School of Art. Frank’s professional career included employment with various advertising agencies and commercial studios as a designer and illustrator, later becoming self-employed as a freelance illustrator working for both advertising and publishing clients. Over the course of his long career Frank has illustrated many children's and educational books, including Enid Blyton’s ‘The Famous Five’.
