Original … more No hay quien lo socorra is an original artwork realized by the great Spanish artist Francisco Goya in 1810. Original Etching on paper. The artwork belongs to the famous series ''Los Desastres de la Guerra'' realized during the years of the Independence Spanish War and published for the first time in 1863 and representing the horrors and the despair of the War. Titled on the lower central margin ''No hay quien lo socorra'' (Nobody help them). Numbered on the upper left corner. Etching N. 60. Good conditions. A couple of adults and one of children, all dead or in agony, lying on the ground for starvation, provoke the desperation of a poor hungry man who brings his hands on his face. The effects of hunger, visible in the skeletal incision of the extremities, have produced this terminal situation. The pathetic nature of the scene has been reinforced by Goya presenting these destitute people in the middle of a desert, far from the charitable centers of the cities and other types of aid. With the background obtained from the aquatint burnishing, the impression of a dawn is created, that poor people will never see. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a licence for export regardless of the work’s market price. The shipping may require additional handling days to require the licence according to the final destination of the artwork. less
