Magnificent set of sprinkling spoons in solid silver.
The first one is in the shape of a scallop shell finely chiseled and has 3 punches of which the punch of big guarantee of Provence: horizontal oval, with a head of Hercules framed by the figures of the department.
Period : 19th century
Circa : 1819 - 1838
Weight : 58,9grs
3 hallmarks : Goldsmiths and " The old man " also called " Michel Ange ".
The second one is just as beautiful, more sober, "uniplat" model, also in solid silver.

Also called sugar spoon, it is intended to serve the sugar cane newly imported from the plantations of America.
Used to sweeten seasonal fruits and exotic drinks such as chocolate and coffee, it was initially reserved for an elite.
Made of silver or vermeil, it is made to order by a specialized master goldsmith.
An object full of charm and femininity, the sprinkling spoon is a rare example in the history of decorative arts: it is indeed in Provence and not in Paris that the most original models will be created.
