We are delighted to offer this very rare circa 1870 Black Forest carved oak hall chair with Bobbin turned legs … Read more We are delighted to offer this very rare circa 1870 Black Forest carved oak hall chair with Bobbin turned legs and backrest depicting men hugging possibly Ebenezer Scrooge An attractive and well made piece, very decorative, ideally suited as an occasional chair. The backrest is quite a tour de force in carving, it's beautifully sculpted and such a warm and welcoming feeling. I think it's Ebenezer Scrooge as one chap is in his night cloths and the other looks to be either drunk or a beggar perhaps, I can’t say for sure but it certainly has a Christmas Carol feel to it The legs are Victorian Bobbin turned, very highly desirable and highly collectable on any seating We have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom Dimensions: Height:- 100 cm Width:- 54.5 cm Depth:- 52.5 cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point .
