- Very fine 19th century italian cylinder top bureau bookcase with ornately inlaid internals this is one of the finest flamed … more Very fine 19th century italian cylinder top bureau bookcase with ornately inlaid internals this is one of the finest flamed mahogany cylinder top desks I have ever seen, its early 19th century circa 1820, for a 200+ year old piece is looks simply amazing. You have various drawers and cupboards all-over, very finely inlaid and highly decorative panels. The base drawer which works as a sliding desk area has further sliding drawer tops, i’ve only ever seen this on gillows of lancaster furniture. This was constructed by a master craftsman, the quality of the work is mind blowing in terms of the condition we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be genuine age related patina marks all-over, this has all been left in situs as it’s a good honest antique. I can have it fully restored at the new owners request and cost to gallery perfect condition. Dimensions: height 222.5 cm, the desk height is 77.5 cm width 127.5 cm depth 64.5 cm, depth when the desk is out 94.5 cm. Condition: please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade. less
