We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning suite of eight fully restored Chesterfield tufted armchairs with Thomas Chippendale style fretwork carved legs These chairs are a very rare find, they are made in the traditional English manor, they have coil sprung bases, upholstered with plain russet cattle hide which has been hand nail tacked in place using antiqued studs, they have then been traditionally hand dyed They are very decorative, the lines are sculptural from every angle, the frames are a mixture of oak and beech wood, the legs have been slightly reeded and they have the Chippendale fretwork carving in the corners Each chair has been fully restored to include being washed back, hand dyed and antiqued six times, sealed, polished and waxed down, the frames have been stripped, stained polished and waxed as well Size wise they can be used as generous dining chairs, small armchairs, they were made for a gentleman’s type club and can be used in any context really Dimensions Height:- 97cm Width:- 71cm Depth:- 70cm Seat height:- 48cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
