Pair of oyster brass turquoise sconces by carla baz dimensions: 110 x 40 x 40 cm materials: brushed brass, vert-de-gris hand painted brass. Oyster is a series of sculptural lighting pieces where the delicately nested pearl in its protective shell embodies itself a poetic and meaningful metaphor. Working around the contrast between the two components, the fragile blown-glass bulb and the compact brass, the series experiments textures, patinas and reflection, aiming to juxtapose and shelter the most delicate within the rough. Carla baz is a french-lebanese designer dedicated to foster synergies between her innovative approach to furniture/lighting and the very accomplished skills of lebanese artisans. After studying interior architecture at esag penninghen in paris, she pursued a masters in product design for the luxury industry at the university of art and design lausanne (ecal) where she had the opportunity to work on several projects under the supervision of international designers such as ronan bouroullec, barberosgerby, marti guixé, pierre charpin and umberto and fernando campana. She then engaged in diverse professional experiences, working in london for burberry, vivienne westwood and zaha hadid until she felt it was time to explore her own lines. Thus began a very inspiring sequence of experiments which resulted in small editions of her sculptural and functional furniture and earned her the brussels based boghossian fondation’s 2013 design prize. All her projects are rooted in that elaborate relationship where innovative ideas meet noble materials that are worked by hand. Within that journey to their process, unique and elegant products are born that hold their place in our landscape. Carla has recently been awarded the 'rising talent' award at maison & objet’s 2018 september edition. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
- The item will be delivered to your home and placed in the desired room. The delivery service includes unpacking, inspecting, and removing packaging materials; and does not include installation or setting up the item.
- Shipping charges start at $999 and vary based on the size, weight, packaging, and/or the value of the item.
- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
