Serigraph from the pressure - Series City - city silhouette New York - from the 1950s. An elongate horizontal format with original signature of Schawinsky artists proof Xanti Schawinsky in the glass frame.
Schawinsky was from 1924 student at the Bauhaus in Weimar (particularly busy in the theater department at Oskar Schlemmer), later in Dessau. Cooperation with the Bauhaus sizes Gropius, Moholy-Nagy etc.pp.
1941 he moved to New York.
There arises from 1952, inter alia, the pressure - Series ° ° City (city silhouette New York) in mostly long-drawn landscape formats in numerous variations.
The graphics offered here was issued mid-1960s in Frankfurt and there from Schawinky signed (according to the previous owner).
Slight chipping to the frame. Very good condition .
The last photo shows an image from the publication: Knoll Furniture 1938-1960, Schiffer Design Book 1999, page 132 - a similar version of printmaking offered via a wall-mounted sideboard Florence Knoll. This piece has an attribution mark,
