The … more Beautiful first 1970s edition of the iconic Panthella floor lamp by Danish designer Verner Panton for manufacturer Louis Poulsen. The designer's inspiration is drawn from the mushroom- shaped atomic bomb clouds of WWII. The base of the light is chrome plated with the switch integrated in the base. (which is only for the first productions, the later productions are smaller in diameter and have an external switch) The three-stage switch functions to provide three different light intensities; 60Watts - 100Watts or 160Watts. The original lightbulb that makes this possible, is not included but can be purchased optionally. These bulbs are not manufactured anymore, but as a unique feature we have them available upon request. If not used, the light just works with one light intensity depending of the kind of bulb you are using. The color of the shade is a beautiful gradually toned light blue-grey; with the chromed base this is a very rare to find combination.
