The project explores the archetype of the vase and reexamines its … more Fimo Vase was sparked by Bakery Studio’s ongoing fascination of vases. The project explores the archetype of the vase and reexamines its foundations. The conclusion was drawn that a vase only needs to be sealed in its lower part in order to hold water. This understanding was materialized by using circle patches of Fimo clay which are placed around a degradable vase. The bottom part is placed densely in order to receive a sealed surface and the top part is placed loosely. After the Fimo is baked, the degradable vase is removed leaving only a freestanding arrangement of Fimo patches.Fimo Vase is a limited edition of 20 signed and numbered vases. Each vase is unique and is made up of different colors. Please note that the vase is not functional and serves as a conceptual sculpture of a vase.
