The ovoid-shaped ewer stands on a circular pedestal, with a handle in the shape of a woman.
The basin where Temperance sits in the center, is lined with gadroon moldings, chiseled with cartouches bearing allegories of the 4 elements and the arts (Rhetoric, Music, Dialectic, Geometry, etc.), deities, grotesque masks and foliage.
