The rap-meets-rock concert was a somewhat unsuccessful experiment to bring together black rock bands Fishbone and Living Colour with rap acts Public Enemy and Stetsasonic. "Though pleading for 'peace and togetherness,'" reported the Los Angeles Times, [Public Enemy] "performed in the guise of a paramilitary organisation backed by a five-member, uniformed and Uzi-toting drill team. And when fights broke out, tough-talking Public Enemy left the stage, after just half an hour and 3 1/2 songs."
