The wreck of a boat at the bottom of the sea; the leaf of a tree lying on the ground; the berry of an exotic plant; a stone smoothed by the tide: the shape is only a way of igniting a personal memory. This is a table centre that can contain not only flowers, fruits, sweets or whatever you want to put inside, but above all the echo of a personal memory. And as often happens with the most vivid and powerful memories, sight alone is not enough. So this element must be touched to feel the silkiness of the solid wood that composes it; but it must also be smelled because it releases the scent of natural beeswax and virgin coconut oil that permeate it. But above all, as when you live a flashback, Memory suspends the experience in a moment of silence, in a time far from the technological noise that too often distracts us from our feelings.
Tomoko Mizu is originally from Tokyo, in 1994 he founded his own studio in Milan, dedicated to product and furniture design and corporate image consulting. Her design process is based on the careful observation of the culture where she was born (the East), where she grew up professionally (Europe) and on the characteristics of the materials. she participated in the Sardinian handicraft biennial in 2009, where she was selected for the Compasso d'oro 2011. Her vases, produced by Cappellini, entered the permanent collections of the MAGMA Museum in Roccamonfina (CE), in 2010. In addition, in Milan (June - September 2013) and Tokyo (October 2014) he presented a solo exhibition with Fritz Hansen, and for several years he organized workshops at the Politecnico di Milano, the Domus Academy and the IED in Cagliari.
