The artist has represented the birds in an opaque dark brown glass decorated internally with gold inclusions and then encased in translucent applied glass. The sculpture is attributed to the celebrated glass artist and designer Alfredo Barbini (1912-2007) circa 1950, born on the islands of Murano.
