In the processing of marble, water is always present, from the dawn of technology to the most recent technological innovations. The alliance between these two elements–seemingly in contrast–inspires the work of Gutta Cavat Lapidem and pays tribute to this ancestral material complicity. This monolith in Carrara marble is carved by hand. The marble collection is made in collaboration with iFrioli marble workers from the San Lorenzo / Verano district of Rome. In Rome the Frioli work marble since 183, the year in which Leopolo Frioli dall'Emilia decided to transfer his experience as an entrepreneur and artisan in the capital. Today, after five generations, the purpose is to continue this ancient profession keeping alive the tradition.
