The name of the work is inscripted on the lower right corner: Abacuch P. (Abacuch Prophet). Good conditions. Abacuch is a very small etching on paper depicting a scene from the stories of the Prophet Abacuch. He was a prophet whose oracles and prayer are recorded in the Book of Habakkuk. He is revered by Jews, Christians, and Muslims. He is instructed by an angel of the Lord to take the stew to Daniel, who is in the lion's den in Babylon. After proclaiming that he is unaware of both the den and Babylon, the angel transports Habakkuk to the lion's den. This is the moment depicted in this scene. less
