These lamps are so rare that is is virtually impossible to find. I just so happen to find this one at an Estate sale. It caught my eye because it was lite up and the gold accents just glistened.
Upon closer inspection, I realized this was a finely detailed craved wood lamp. So beautiful and very unique.

Upon researching I found out that this was a MetroWare Lamp (marked on the sticker on the socket).

MetroWare was a company that started off in the Art Deco period making lamps for the new Art Deco style. As time passed they focused on wood, chalkware and plaster lamps for early
Mid Century Modern Decors. Their volume was extremely low, by standards of the period. Often output would equal less than a hundred lamps a year. The company went out of business in the early 70's.

Finding any MetroWare lamp is truly a once in a lifetime treasure. Their work and attention to detail is one of excellent and pure craftmanship.

The lamp is in very good condition, very little to no signs of wear.
