The stand features a cast-iron base, a nickle plated cup, and a tubular spring that ends with a nob. The cast-iron base is marked with the abbreviation 'dep' which means 'depose' (this design was legally registered). Because of the heavy base it stands firmly even when it is filled with umbrellas. less
