We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects.
Teapot and sugar bowl in fine Porcelain de Paris; two objects whose shape, linear and elegant, recalls the English Victorian period; they have been made much more refined and richer by adorning them with valuable and elaborate floral decorations in pure gold handmade; even the edges, handles, knobs, and spout have linear decorations in gold; they were made by master craftsmen between 1870 and 1875 in Napoleon III style in respect of ancient traditions and raw material (kaolin) by master craftsmen; “Porcelain de Paris” is a term that refers collectively to the various porcelain decorating workshops and studios within and around Paris, France. It is not the name of any single company or producer and is usually applied to craft objects of excellent workmanship produced between the mid and late nineteenth century. The makers are in some cases obscure and generally unknown or have created only a few and rare pieces. Antique porcelain objects from Paris are the most desired by collectors and are present in many museums around the world. In the reigning period of Napoleon III (1852-1870) there is a real revival of past styles such as the first empire, but the eclecticism that characterized the period, made it more graceful, refined and elegant by inserting neo-gothic, neo-renaissance and oriental elements; our two objects belong precisely to this aesthetic current. The teapot and sugar bowl is in good condition, in some parts the pure gold appears worn, but this makes the two objects much more fascinating and historically interesting. Measures teapot width cm.22, depth cm.10, height cm.16; measures sugar bowl width cm.15, depth cm.9, height cm.14. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects. less
