An original Gustav Stickley circa 1905 high spindle back sewing rocking chair with rush seat featuring 9 spindles on the back and 5 on each side. It is very sturdy with no cracks or loose parts. There is a 2nd finish over the original with a few drips underneath. Some minor overall wear here and there from age and use and a few strands of rush seating missing. I believe the model number is #377. A great piece of American Arts and Crafts furniture to treasure and use.
Gustav Stickley (1858 - 1942) was an American furniture manufacturer, design leader, publisher, and a leading voice in the American Arts and Crafts movement. Stickley's design philosophy was a major influence on American Craftsman architecture. Wikipedia
