He's from roughly the 50s or 60s based on his colors, the fact that he's chalkware and his design. Chalkware is a type of ceramic, no worries, he's not actually made of chalk. It was common in the 50s and 60s in making figurines, lamps and decorative items. I couldn't any problems with him. I have other pieces of this set listed separately in my chairish store. His pal from this set is marked Brinn, made in japan. He lost his sticker. less
