This artwork "Untitled, Flowers" is a watercolor on paper by noted California artist Charlotte Britton, American, b.1938. It is signed at the middle left side by the artist. The artwork size is 21 x 29 inches, framed is 28.75 x 37 inches. It is custom framed in the original Oak frame. artwork is in excellent condition, framing is in very good condition.
About the artist.
Born in Wisconsin in 1938, Charlotte Britton grew up in Northern
California. She studied watercolor at San Jose State with N Eric
Oback and received her BA in 1959. Primarily a landscape painter, she
worked mostly on location in her early years and started The Santa
Clara Valley Watercolor Society in the late 1960's. She began
teaching watercolor classes in 1973, continuing also to study in
workshops with Rex Brandt, Robert E. Wood, George Post, Millard Sheets
and others.
Charlotte Britton exhibited with many art groups in California
and the US and received more than 50 awards for painting including from
American Watercolor Society in 1995 and 1997 and National Watercolor in
1996. She is a signature member of both AWS and NWS and of
California Watercolor Association.
She continued teaching to2005 and also led painting workshops to locations in the US and Europe
starting in 1984. Ten of the workshops were at LaRomita School of
Art located in the Umbrian province of Italy.
