Description: Gorgeous traditional Japanese style 'Tansu' chest on small legs with two generously sized door cupboards / openings at the front … more Gorgeous traditional Japanese style 'Tansu' chest on small legs with two generously sized door cupboards / openings at the front and four pull out drawers above. The piece is crafted from very beautifully grained Japanese Zelkova (keyaki) burl veneer chosen for its grain with metal & brass fittings and corner embellishments - the main highlights being, apart from the wood grain, are the round central locks, matching hinges and iron pulls. Simple sword style keys. Lined inside with heavy old paper decorated throughout with black calligraphy.
This is a handy storage cabinet that can be used on the floor, or can be placed/stacked on a console or similar cabinet or even under a larger piece. It's not too small nor neither too big. Just the right size.

Condition is very good. Some typical minor wear. **Please note - the wood is not marked, the camera lens reacts with the wood finish giving a hazy effect in some areas. Which is not so.
