About the artist
Zbysław Marek Maciejewski was born in1946 in Pohulanka, near Zawiercie in Poland, He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. He obtained his diploma in 1969 in the painting studio of Wacław Taranczewski. From 1973 until his death, he taught painting at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at his alma mater. In 1989 he received the title of professor. In the 1990s he was also a professor at the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw. In his work, he drew inspiration from the art of Young Poland, Impressionism, secession and culture of the Far East. He created his own vision of the modern world. In his paintings a special place was occupied by images of children playing. From the 1980s, he often traveled to Europe, painted exotic vegetation and architecture outdoors. He considered himself and could be considered as a continuator of Polish modernism. He died in Krakow in 1999.
He studied and received his diploma at the

He participated in 105 and had 60 individual exhibitions
of painting and drawing in Poland and abroad.
Zbyslaw Marek Maciejewski is a recipient of numerous awards.
His painting became a subjects of 9 television films.
