The form, of course, is a Chinese Ginger Jar. The brand, is an American superior purveyor of Traditional American Interiors, Ethan Allen. The maker . . . is Japanese. The decoration is what a fine American home would expect on his or her China, Americana, during the time when the only place on earth capable of producing the fine China that we are now accustomed to, was China itself.

The red hand painted Eagle and red border decoration are superb Early Americana. This lidded Ginger Jar is brought to us by Ethan Allen and their American Traditional Interiors Collection. The stunning bone white China is a perfect backdrop for the subdued and folksy auburn red decoration.

The jar is marked at base. Its interior is the same perfect bone white china expressed on the exterior. The decoration is topped with a gold leaf dome finial, a gold rim around the bottom of the lid and another around the bottom of the jar itself. With lid, it stands 10" and it is approximately 6.5" at it's widest.

Excellent condition.
