Description: We are offering this high quality Oil on Canvas painting. This painting is signed in the lower right for Swiss … more We are offering this high quality Oil on Canvas painting. This painting is signed in the lower right for Swiss artist Auguste Bachelin (1830-1890). It is also signed Sapres, which might be the title meaning "after" the battle, and also M. Borel who we can't find much information on. It is possible as the painting is dated 1888 and was executed late in his career it may be a student. Auguste Bachelin painted many scenes of the 1970-1971 Franco Prussian war.

Condition:Several old repairs to the canvas.
