She finds it contemplative … Read more The artist occasionally paints with a palette knife, using oil paint mixed with cold wax medium. She finds it contemplative to build up the layers and work first and foremost with color. She finds that her oil and cold wax paintings are even more abstract than her acrylic works. This painting is on gallery wrapped linen. It is signed on the back, and is in a black wood floater frame with a narrow gold front edge, which is wired and ready to hang.

Laurie MacMillan has enjoyed numerous awards and five solo exhibitions, and has had pieces selected for over a hundred juried group shows. Her work is held in personal and business collections across the U.S. and in Britain. See less
