In Paris in the 19th C the search for the Exotic and Deluxe was the sport of Emperors and many others....the Empire stretched further than Europe and it brought new design and ideas to France,pieces like this bare the traces of the exotic made European.

Ahhh the French Empire brought back to Paris many things...some truly elegant design ideas lie this one...heavy influence of the Persian Style of Decorating pottery.

This Elegant reticulated 19th Century Tasse or Compote in in near prisitine condition ....of course some of the gilding has worn from age....but the bit that remains makes it even ore beautiful I think.

Measures 9.5" x 4.5

A reticulated (open work) bowl set atop a neoclassical four legged base.

The Blue and red pattern has been masterly executed from Persian Designs.

No Chips Crack or Crazing.

Did you know each color and than the gold has been fired seperately making the porcelain clay tough and very durable. less
