Age: Antique Jewel
Pile: Low and Distressed with amazing age-related wear and patina
About: VERY rare to see twin pieces woven, especially in the ICONIC Weeping Willow Tree of Life motif! Botanical gems filled with flora inspired by the field around them. Both have an incredible quality of weave and this is how you get the crisp vivid clarity in design. Different birthmarks throughout each, as it should be. An incredible deep ruby-sangria and almost raspberry reds, lovely antique gold and brass hues, camel, deep indigo, soft blues, pinks, and more dazzle each leaf, flower, vine, and branch. Both pieces are naturally worn with age-related patina - authentic as they come. The pieces are nearly 100 or so years old, and they both have sensational wool. It is just so uncommon to have twin pieces, both in wonderful antique condition, both beautiful, and both TOGETHER. Unfortunately, I will not sell them separately, I believe they should always remain together and if you so choose to buy them as gifts, then in those circumstances I can see them going their separate ways - but the intent is what is most important. I feel it's my obligation to provide them as a package together as my intent is for them to remain together the same way I received them - and if you have two children, or two parents, or two family members or friends that you want each to have one - in a way, you are joining those two separate parties together through the idea of these twin pieces. If you have two small kids/children that you would like them to have one of them and for them to have with them as family heirlooms, that is incredible. I couldn't think of many other better ways for them to be used. They can be wedding gifts, birthday gifts, or special collector items that only two people on the planet will have to share - I love the idea of that, and I hope you do too. If you'd like us to secure the fringe or open up the fringe and have them opened and created so that both sides on each piece are even, let us know. If you'd like us to tidy up the bindings as well, and preserve these pieces so whoever gets these will get to cherish them for as long as possible, I'll happily have my grandfather do that for you all by hand - for his time we will ask maybe around $125 per piece, a nominal amount for him to put this time, energy and heart into preserving them for you, and them. You can buy them and then reach out to us and let us know what you'd like us to do to secure them; and if you'd like them as is, that's fine too! Let me know if you have any questions at all. Can't wait to see where these beauties go, and please share what you'll do with them as that means a lot to us!
