This Georges Braque rare vintage 1981 Modernist lithograph print custom framed Paris exhibition poster " L'Ordre Des Oiseaux " 1962, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The lithograph print Modernist poster is published by The Galerie Alain Digard Paris, printed in France by Pierron Imprimeur S.A. in 1981 in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the exhibition " Au Vent D' Arles ". It features an artwork image originally created by Barque in 1962 titled " L'Ordre Des Oiseaux " ( The Order of the Birds ).
Georges Braque ( 1882 - 1963 ) was a major 20th Century French painter, collagist, printmaker, and sculptor. His most important contributions to the history of art were his alliance with Fauvism, and the role he played in the development of Cubism. Closely associated with his colleague Pablo Picasso, their respective Cubist works were indistinguishable for many years. Working closely together, thus the invention of the Cubist style was a joint effort between Braque and Picasso. Art works by Braque are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
In 1962, The Nobel Prize winning French poet diplomat, saint John Perse composed a poem in honor of the artist George Braque's eightieth birthday. He wrote about birds in general, but also about Braque's birds in particular. Braque responded with twelve aquatints, the artworks were created at Aldo Crommelynck's atelier in Paris. Together these were published as " L'Ordre Des Oiseaux " ( The Order of the Birds ).
The rare out of print Modernist framed Paris exhibition poster measures 23 1/4" W X 31 1/4" H X 1 1/2" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a charcoal gray matte eggshell finish Modern style style wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The poster print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition with very light signs of handling.
