Freizes designed by Giulio Romano. The copperplate engravings were created by Pietro Santo Bartoli. Printed in Rome c.1680. Printed on one side only on handmade "laid" paper. Great detail and design with a high design art deco "look". Great for a HUGE wall treatment or several smaller groupings. We also have 12 more different images listed. The last three photos are for information purposes. They are not for sale but may be printed out. Dimensions: 18.5" x 14.25"

Pietro Santi Bartoli (1635-1700) was an Italian engraver, draughtsman and painter. He studied painting under Poussin. Eventually he devoted himself to engraving. He engraved many Roman monuments. Bartoli adored Rome's ancient buildings, monuments and ruins. He explored, climbed and sketched the massive, ancient structures.

Giulio Romano (original designer of the freizes), also known by his real name of Giulio Pippi, was an Italian painter and architect. He was a pupil of Raphael, and his stylistic deviations from High Renaissance classicism help define the 16th-century style known as Mannerism.
