This is a Absolutely Beautiful - Very Fine Quality Original Matched Pair of Antique King George III Period English Sterling Silver Wine Bottle Coasters. They are Completely Hand Made with Classic Repeating Serpentine Ribbed Hand Chased - Repousse Features. Each has the Same Assortment of English Hallmarks that include a Documented T.R. Maker Mark of Thomas Robbins - a Lion Passant Sterling Silver Mark, a "I" 1804-1805 Date Letter and a Panther Head London City Mark. They Also have the Hallmark that depicts King George the 3rds Profile Facing Right. The Turned Wood Bottoms are Honduras Mahogany. They Both have a Fancy Hand Engraved Family Monogram Possibly T A C ? ( See Last Photograph in my Listing ). As a side note and Based on My Experience the Style of Monogram Lettering would indicate that the Monograms were added at a Later Date - Most Likely Sometime in the Late 19th Century. The Set is in Very Nice Cosmetic and Functional Condition - Lightly Tarnished. They Display Beautifully.
It Really is Quite Rare in itself to Find an Original Matching Pair of Coasters of this age and period. King George III Reign 1738 to 1820.
Each Measures 1 7/8 inches Tall x 5 3/4 inches Wide - Long.
