Purchased by … more This is a matted mid-century 1945 fashion print that originally appeared in a haute couture French fashion magazine. Purchased by us in Paris. It features a long evening dress designed by the iconic couturier Balenciaga. The dress is viewed in a mirror showing both front and side views of the design. It is sleek and elegant, done in chocolate brown with puffs of black ruffling on the shoulders. Note the cinched belted waistband and the long matching gloves. It is illustrated (signed, dated) by one of the leading French fashion illustrators, Pierre Mourgue. His works appeared in Gazette du Bon Ton and French Vogue magazine. This image is perfect for the vintage fashion lover or today's fashionista! Clean, excellent condition. 8.5 x 11 inches.
