This antique, 18th century, Scandinavian tall, arched back of this chair displays an inlaid central panel of burled walnut flanked by panels of French caning. The arms and legs display acanthus leaf carving. Notice the unusual curved stretchers.
MARKS
Stamped with a crowned royal monogram.
PROVENANCE
Former stock of the well known antiques shop Rasmussen und Bielenberg, Wilhelmstrasse 105, Berlin, which was destroyed by bombing during War II.
