Bearing fine Persian sensibilities of the early 19th century, the rug witnesses a scintillating show of geometry that manifests as a well defined medallion pattern with symmetric and well planned striations. The border and corners exhibit similar regularities in geometric design to seamlessly blend with the theme. The piece flourishes in dark blue and brick red accenting to sky blue, aqua green and beige. Connoisseurs may note the presence of black on one of the borders—quite unusual for a drawing in this style.
