It captures the fun of collecting! The clown who holds his overflowing stack of records is a likable character. The advertisement print is a 1931 Art Deco image that originally appeared in a French periodical. It is original to 1931 and NOT a recent reproduction. It is illustrated and signed by Paul Colin (1892-1985) who is a well known French poster artist, best recognized for his Art Deco poster, Revue Negre, which launched the career of Josephine Baker. Colin's style is personal, relevant and fresh. He worked in theaters creating theater sets and costumes. This image advertises the recordings of the famous music hall, Odeon, which is still a popular musical venue in Paris. The image is clean with no stains or discolorations. 9 1/4 x 12.5 inches in size. Comes custom matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for a standard size frame.
