Royal Doulton Lichfield Pattern Bread and Butter Plate. Set of 12. This Is a Stunning Pattern of Muted Green, Gold, and Burgundy With a Gold Trim. Never used bread and butter plates from Royal Doulton’s Lichfield Collection.
The Royal Doulton China company, based in the UK, manufactured the Lichfield pattern for nine years.
Royal Doulton's Lichfield pattern is unique because it offers different degrees of design on different pieces. For example, the dinner plate is blank in the center and on the rim, while the salad plate has a heavily designed rim, and the bread and butter has a strong center design.
This was done with such thought that when stacked upon one another, the design is complete and beautiful. It's not a common design style. Overall, this pattern is a blaze of color that is both fun and sophisticated to it to make it great formal china.
