Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro was one of the most influential people of nineteenth century Portuguese culture, with a remarkable production particularly regarding the areas of humoristic drawing, caricature and ceramic creation. The main ingredients of Bordallo’s productions were colour, exuberance and happiness along with a high technical level achieved mainly in modelling and glazing. The raised holly bush, shown on the rim of this piece, is iconic of a Portuguese Christmas. Retains the original sticker on the back plus has a backstamp. Add it to your holiday table or display it with a plate collection.
