This is a large vintage pedestal compote or console bowl made by Royal Haeger from Illinois in the 1950’s. It is one the first pieces my parents purchased when they came to this country from Germany. They could not afford it, but my mom wanted it so badly, as she really never had anything nice, so my sweet dad bought it for her.
It features a grape and fruit design and it is gilded with 22K gold. The line of décor was called ‘Gold Tweed.’
The bottom shows the Haeger name and style and an indentation on the bottom also reads, “Royal Haeger copyright 360 USA.”
The bowl measures 15” long by 8” deep and is 7” high less
