This piece is one of a kind … more C1970s: Signed Hivo Van Teal (Dutch/American, 20th Century) abstract Mid-century modern lucite sculpture. This piece is one of a kind and signed on the top of the base. 5 curved pieces, that are 3-sided and about 2" thick, create an orb shape and are mounted on a beveled 1" thick lucite base with cake-dot domed foot supports. Van Teal signature is engraved on the top surface of the base. Note the excellent condition of the lucite; there are hardly any surface scratches (and any can be easily buffed with the right product), and there are visible natural connection joints between the base and the curved parts (but this is expected). Measures approximately 10" wide x 9.5" high. It is a statement piece! 1 owner, bought in Palm Beach, and in great condition. Will be packed carefully and shipped from Florida. This was very difficult to photograph because of the light refractions. It's stunning! less
