- Antique Chinese Bookends. They are hand Carved out of Solid Soapstone with amazing detail. The Bookends depict a pot with … more Antique Chinese Bookends. They are hand Carved out of Solid Soapstone with amazing detail. The Bookends depict a pot with drooping foliage with a bird picking at the leaves. Both are near identical but have extremely slight differences in areas just due to being hand carved. I believe these are from the early 1900's, around the 1920's. They are dense for their size and would look fantastic with a set of books between them. Would be impossible to find a modern set that could begin to compare to the quality of these. great for display. Each measures 4L x 2W x 5H. less
