This beautiful and scarce cachepot measures 6.5 inches wide, 5.5 … more WEDGWOOD 1800s LIGHT BLUE CREAMWARE EMBOSSED FOOTED PLANTER FLOWER POT. This beautiful and scarce cachepot measures 6.5 inches wide, 5.5 inches tall and 4 inches deep. The detail in the embossed designs is exquisite - a reclining cherub surrounded in a border of ivy on the front panel, musical instruments as trophies on the side panels, acanthus leaf ball feet and paterae crowning the top corners. The epitome of an English piece in the French taste so typical of the Regency period. The overall shape is similar to a bombe commode or chest.

For the age and rarity of this flower pot, condition is excellent. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. On the inside of the pot along the upper rim, there is some minor staining. It is of no detriment to the piece and is not seen with the piece on display—you need to pick it up, look inside and turn it on an angle to see it. The bottom is impressed WEDGWOOD only, so this dates from the early to mid 1800s. A beautiful piece. less
